Hello Scanners,
A mandatory update to Scaniverse (v5.0.0) is now available for both iOS and Android users with backend changes to finalize the spinout of the new Niantic Spatial company!
To continue using Scaniverse, please make sure you update your app as soon as possible to migrate your account and to continue using Scaniverse!
Key Updates:
- Necessary update: Version 5.0.0 is a required update and older versions of the app will no longer be supported or accessible.
- Account migrations: As Scaniverse is moving from Niantic Labs to Niantic Spatial, we need to migrate all Scaniverse accounts to the new company’s backend.
- Scaniverse accounts which use Google Sign-in: No action necessary. Update the app and continue using it as usual.
- Scaniverse accounts which use Google Sign-in: If you signed up using “Sign in with Apple,” you will need to update Scaniverse, and re-log in to finalize your account migration.
Important Note for Apple Account Users Who Re-downloaded the App:
If you previously used “Sign in with Apple,” uninstalled the app, and are now re-downloading it, simply signing in with Apple again will create a new account.
To avoid this, please check your email inbox for an email with the subject “[IMPORTANT] Re-Link Your Scaniverse Account.” This email contains a “magic link” that will allow you to reconnect to your original account.
Click on the “magic link” and sign-in with your existing Scaniverse account. The link does not expire.
Please make sure you update your app to the newest version (v5.0.0) and follow the relevant instructions to ensure continued access to your Scaniverse account and experience.
