Into The Scaniverse - Play local scan files?

Would it be possible to copy the scan file directly to a Quest headset and run them locally through Into The Scaniverse? So they’re basically running directly on the headset?

Hello,

This isn’t possible now but I did make note of this and sent it over to our team. Please note that we can’t guarantee if/when a feature will be available. To stay up to date you can always check out the Scaniverse website.

I use wakufactory for this; it has weird controls (such as grip&move to change altitude), but it’s the ony one I was able to find capable of playing local files:

To download your scans locally you can use my page:

I wish I understood this better. So do I use your converter page to download my splat, then copy it to my Quest3s, and then use wakufactory in the Meta Browser to view the file in VR from my local storage somehow? I’m a little slow to get up to speed on this.

You don’t need to convert, unless you want to edit the file. If you want just to view it:

  • replace "jumpjack"by your username in first box
  • click MAP button
  • find your scan in the map or in the list
  • copy its link in clipboard
  • paste it into the second box
  • click INFO button:you will then find two links to the two .SPZ files associated to your scan
  • right click on one link to download the file to your quest (don’t forget to specify a name for the file, else any duplicate will be erroneously renamed by meta browser to “gaussian.spz(1)”, changing the extension and making he file unreadable by wakufactory!)
  • go to Wakufactory and open the file

Thanks for the step-by-step! Working well, except I get all the way to the last step, “go to wakufactory and open the file,” and when I open the file and allow VR display, I’m only seeing a pale blue room of nothingness. Any clues what I might be doing wrong with wakufactory?

Can you share the file?
