This stone monument was built to console those who died in battle from this area when Japan fought against China and Russia. The inscription on the monument reads, “500 people died in battle from this area, but Japan did nothing, so the local people joined forces to build this stone monument.”

This is a Jizo statue that watches over the safety of the local people.

This is Ebisu Shrine in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. There is a festival every November. Fifty years ago, many mikoshi and demons gathered at this shrine during the festival, and it was very lively, but now the number of people has decreased, and it has become a small festival.
