Hello Splatters,
Joining y’all in sharing your communities. On today’s itinerary, we’ll be visiting Monterey, California, USA. Monterey is located in the coastal center of California and has a ton of scenic views and historical sites.
- Dennis the Menace Park - a children’s playground inspired by the comic strip character Dennis. Opened in 1956, it features play structures like a maze, climbing walls, and slides.
- Window on the Bay Park - a beautiful stretch of park along the beach with playful structures.
- Old Fisherman’s Wharf - a historic waterfront destination known for its fresh seafood, souvenir shops, and stunning views. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the pier, dine at waterfront restaurants, or take a boat tour to see marine life.
- Cannery Row - a historic waterfront street in Monterey, California, is famous for its sardine canning industry, immortalized in John Steinbeck’s novel. Today, it’s a bustling tourist destination with shops, restaurants, and attractions like the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
This along will take you some time to walk from place to place and enjoy the local offerings but if you have some more energy, I’d encourage you to continue down the coast to Monterey’s neighboring town Pacific Grove!
