Enhance gaussian splat later

We know that we can enhance a gaussian splat multiple times, and the hardware of a phone is not very powerful. So I’d like to have the option to enhance the gaussian splat later not only just after taking a scan. That way, I can continue improving the model as i have the time to process it.

Hi there,

As long as you save the raw data of your scan after taking it, you can use the “Reprocess scan” feature to reprocess and enhance your scan as much as you’d like. To access the “Reprocess scan” feature, browse to your scan from within your Library, select the 3 dots on the top right corner, and select “Reprocess scan.” You might have to temporarily reprocess as a mesh before switching back to a splat to enhance your scan again.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need clarification!

Kind regards,
Maverick L.

I know of this feature, but the reprocess button only restarts the processing from the beginning.
For example: I process a scan, it gives 500k splats; I enhance it, it gives 600k splats. Later, I select “reprocess scan”, and I’m back to 500k splats and have to keep enhancing to get back to where I was.

I understand if creating a training save state is difficult to implement.
I just thought of a better feature request since I can restart the training any time like you said.

Just researched about it. It requires saving the training state that is in memory what would create a gigantic file size. Disregard this feature request.
