Filter out poor quality scans from the map

What the title says. There are some dismal scans out there, unfortunately. Nicely, Scaniverse seems to know they’re bad, it’ll say so after you load the scan, in the info area. I’d rather not waste time downloading and looking at poor quality scans (or, alternately, find just the poor quality ones and rescan them).

The “views count” and “likes cont” can help in selecting interesting counts… but these info are currently quite hidden. Try my page to see them: Custom profile page with map of scans and metadata of each scan

Some of your scans

Hi Eric,

Just looking to double-check that you’re referring to Scaniverse and not Into the Scaniverse. Or are you referring to the Geospatial Browser, which is inside the Scaniverse app?

I’m talking about scans made with Scaniverse, the app. I’d love to be able to filter out poor quality scans. An example near me: there’s a scan of Somerville Museum, Somerville, MA. It’s marked as poor quality, and it is incredibly poor. I’d rather not waste time looking at them by filtering them out. Or, alternatively, filter out all except the poor scans, so that I can go to those locations and make better scans. (I’ll probably do that today for a few abysmal scans near where I live.)

Really, I’d love more access in general. For example, I can’t seem to share others’ scans - no way to get a URL to send to others. I’m not sure why that is. The scan is public on the community map. I can like it - why can’t I share it? I’ll report that separately (and the “my likes” feature in the app doesn’t work).

Thanks for asking,

Eric
