I would like to share my little journey with you here.
Kishiwada City is famous for its Danjiri Festival and its castle. Danjiri is a type of float used in shrine festivals.
I found an interesting piece of art at the back entrance to the museum of the festival. The silhouette of the danjiri is probably life-size, and the wooden post in the foreground is a wheel and brake combination.
And a small shrine nearby has existed since 1703 and is reportedly the origin of the Danjiri festival.
The main attraction of the trip, Kishiwada Castle, was rebuilt in 1954, not restored but newly designed and used as a library at the time. The garden, created around the same time, is a one-of-a-kind combination of a traditional Japanese garden with modern elements. (This was a time-consuming, low-quality scan.)
The pride the people of this city take in their danjiri and castle is even expressed in the manhole covers. This concludes this interesting journey.
