For splats, occasionally there are “floaters” of shapes that are in the middle of a scan and I want to remove it, but if I crop the overall splat, it removes too much data.
A crop floater button would be nice. I could crop down to a cube just outside the shape of the floater and then invert selection
In the attached photo. I have floating shapes above the coffee table right in front of my view of the set. If I crop the scene, I lose the coffee table. I would love to isolate those floating shapes and remove them
Try SuperSplat for editing (but you won’t be able to upload to scaniverse anymore, you’ll have to host your scan somewhere else or locally, and view it with MR Gaussian Splat Viewer in Quest )
Hello! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out! As Jumpjack mentioned, it is best to use external applications for more major detailing/editing that is more than just cropping out background noise from the original scan. Most 3D modeling software should be able to provide you with the results you are looking for. Some of these 3D modeling applications include Blender, MeshLab, CloudCompare, and SuperSplat.
