Editing and printing scans

I’m very new to this. I made a successful scan and exported it in various formats. But all of them are colorless when I open them. I’ve tried looking at them in Bambu Studio, Fusion, SharprSD, and Blender. How do I export the scan with all of its colors? With the obj file there is an mtl and jpg file which appear to have the color info, but I can’t figure out how to apply them to the model.

Thanks,
Mark

Hey there msibleyj,

Great job on completing your scan and exporting it. The issue you’re encountering is likely due to how the textures are handled on the import side rather than the export itself. 3D printing slicers typically don’t support textures, so the model appears colorless.

In Blender, you’ll need to ensure the material is set up correctly by confirming that the diffuse channel has the image texture applied and that your view settings are configured to display the textures properly.

Let us know if you have any further questions. Happy scanning!
