I am certain my first encounter with the Scaniverse was when I was using the Meta Browser in my Quest3s, and I clicked on something and was suddenly immersed in a Splat, directly in the browser. However, I can’t seem to figure a way to make it happen with my own unlisted links. When I load them in the browser, there does not appear to be any way to switch to a VR view. It only displays the Splat the same way it does on a normal computer screen, non-VR. Am I crazy or just remembering it wrong? Is it possible to view unlisted links in VR using the Meta Browser? Thanks!
Hi @BryantArnett,
If you’d like to view splats in VR on your Quest, I recommend downloading the Into The Scaniverse app directly on the Quest instead of using its webXR experience via intothescaniverse.com (although that works too). There, you can log into your Scaniverse account and view your public and unlisted splats from the Profile view (refer to this guide).
However, if you’re in intothescaniverse.com, what you’re likely missing is the “Enter VR” button that’s shown when you first load the home page, or sometimes it’s shown in a status bar above the webpage.
You won’t have these issues if you use the native application via the Quest store though. Give that a try!
Hi, @AzadBalabanian
Thanks! I do have and greatly enjoy the VR version of the Into The Scaniverse app on my Quest3s. My hope is to be able to send selected splats from the large collection in my unlisted library to friends and family, without them logging into my account and seeing my whole library. For example, my elderly parents live too far away to visit me, but they use their Quest3 and if I can send them a few selected splats showing my life and home to them in Virtual Reality, it will be as if they are actually visiting!
You are correct, I am missing any indication of any “Enter VR” button when I attempt to load splats using one of my unlisted links in the Meta browser.
