I recently find issue when scanning Mesh using iPhone. Seems still to work with iPad latest iPadOS. Splat works.
I am suspecting iOS 18.3 latest beta causing this.
My iPhone is 15 Pro.
Not just with Scaniverse but also Polycam (?) The back lidar won’t scan mesh anymore. Originally I suspect my iPhone Lidar is broken but I tested Record3D seems still okay.
Further observation, while I did manage to scan with record3d, the resulting scan seems to be shaky pointclouds.
So other suspicion is my iPhone Lidar might have issue.
But it was working before.
Since 18.3 iOS is still beta I could not check with Apple Genius.
Hi there,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with Scaniverse. I believe the cause is related to the beta build of iOS you’re running and not due to a fault with your device in particular – as you mentioned Record3D still seems okay. Unfortunately, this is the nature of beta builds as they are cutting edge releases which can bring breaking changes to existing software.
I would recommend upgrading to the latest stable release of iOS 18.3 and trying again. I look forward to hearing how it goes!
Kind regards,
Maverick L.
mesh scan still does not work with latest iOS 18.4 beta 1 for iPhone 15 Pro…
Mesh scan works for iPad Pro.
Some Android users reporting similar issue.
So maybe the app has bug.
Checking other app using Lidar like Nighr Vision, result is also really strange lots of ghosting etc…
18.4 beta 1 still buggy someone needs to contact Apple…
