Getting error while trying to scan a mesh. After hitting the red button nothing seems to be recorded, the red diagonal lines stay in screen without any new shapes showing whatever I try. After pressing the stop button an error message appears. The error says “Scan error. Sorry, there was an error completing your scan”.
What I already tried:
It does not matter which scale/detail level I select.
Before hitting the scan button the camera works and shows “initializing” and then “ready to scan”
LiDAR works in measurement app, and when I hold my hand over the camera area the app shows me the “move IPhone to start” screen, which disappears when I take away my hand, that also seems to work.
Updated the iPhone to newest IOS.
Already deleted and reinstalled the Scaniverse app.
Gave the app permission to everything possible
Enabled CameraRaw in iPhone settings
Scanning a mesh worked up until yesterday. Creating a Splat still works. What can I do to make it work, is it a bug? Below is a screen shot.

I have exactly same issue with 15 Pro. I don’t recall this issue a few times ago when I use it.

My feeling it’s iOS 18.3 latest beta? If you are using it? The point cloud used to make mesh is shaking like crazy for no reason. So which means, Polycam, 3DScanner, and Record3D Lidar won’t work properly.
I was originally thought I must have dropped my iPhone at some point causing this Scaniverse “Mesh” not to work anymore…
Checking in to see if this is still an issue. I saw that the user above noted that 18.3 is in Beta but I see it’s now out for everyone. We don’t guarantee that our software will work with OS versions that are in Beta but given that it’s now in full release, have you had a chance to see if you’re still having the same issue?
First of all thanks for reaching out. Secondly, it works again after more or less a week. I stopped using the app and tried it several times during the past days, I thought to try again yesterday to post my findings online (which I still need to do), when I discovered that it worked again.
I don’t remember installing a beta version of the OS. I initially installed Scaniverse after updating the OS to 18.3, that might have been a beta but i don’t know. Now I am sure I did not update the OS again, but I guess something has changed so that the problem is resolved. I did not actively do anything though, maybe that happened in the background (updates) or maybe on your development side?
Hope this helps for others. Shall I post my findings online?
This is still an issue in 18.3.1 beta. Not sure if anyone here could test if they use official or beta 18.3.x if that make any difference.
The lidar itself seems shaky if I check Record3D app maybe that is a bug need to be reported to Apple because it does not work with Scaniverse mesh and many other apps including polycam
