Unable to upload scans (from Android phone)

Hello!
Since yesterday (8 mar 2025) I’m unable to upload any scan.
When I try to “put on map”, app starts uploading but about at 50% an error message appears showing “There is no internet connection”.

Phone: Xiaomi 12 Pro. Updated. Android 14.
App ver.: 4.0.3

Regards!

Same issue as on my Galaxy S20 phone.

Hello, we appreciate you for taking the time to reach out and bring this issue to our attention! There will be a patch (Version 4.0.4) coming out in a few days that might resolve this issue. However, if it doesn’t get resolved after the patch, could you update us and let us know? Thank you!

Thanks! I’ll do, in that case.

Hello again! Version 4.0.4 is now available for Scaniverse. Could you try uploading again, both with a new scan and any of your older scans? Please let us know if your issue persists so we may assist you further. Thank you!

Hello. I’ve updated to 4.0.4 but the error persists. I tried 4 old scans and same error happens. The difference is that there is a new message error in the center of the screen saying “Upload error. There was an error uploading your scan. Please try again”.
Also, if i try to upload the same scan again the error appears without any % count.

I also tried to share a link of a scan and I can’t. The same error that other people commented.

I’m going to try a new scan now.

Tried with a new scan… with same result: Error, no internet connection :frowning:

I have the same problem, continuing with v4.0.4, on old and new scans.

I’ve not had a single successful upload. The error is always some variant of “no internet connection”, but I am doing this at home with a strong and unbroken WiFi signal.

Device is a OnePlus Open running Oxygen OS 15.0 (fully up to date).

It’s quite disappointing, because I love the potential of this app, and want to add some scans that I can explore in VR!

I’m right there with you. I have never been so excited to discover something amazing and new, only to be so completely disappointed after one successful upload followed by complete failure. I’m still baffled at how it worked once and then just stopped working. This technology is exactly what I dreamed about for the future of VR, and I really like the idea of the Scaniverse Map and especially link sharing. I will try to be patient a little longer before exploring scan app alternatives.

Hello!

The team has been made aware of the issue. We will notify you when there are any relevant updates or if we need further details that could help us in our investigation. We appreciate your patience in the meantime!

Hello. I saw some users that realized they weren’t logged into Scaniverse app so I went to options and… (difficult to see if I was logged or not -maybe app needs some fix- but…) I wasn’t logged!!

So I logged in and tried uploading scans to the map again and sharing them privately (share link). The first didn’t work, but the second did! Then I tried doing a new scan and I could upload it.
To summarize:

  1. When the app updated to version 4.0.4, the session was automatically logged out, and you have to log back in (but the app doesn’t tell you; thanks to the other users who pointed this out).
  2. Scans with version 4.0.3 can be shared privately but not uploaded to the map (which is strange, since after all, private sharing also uploads to the map, it’s just hidden).
  3. Scans with version 4.0.4 can be uploaded privately and publicly to the map.

We appreciate you updating us with the solution that resolved your issue, and we’re glad to see you got it working again! If this problem. Should this issue arise again, please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can look into it further.

Hello.

As I was saying to another user in an other post, I thought that “uploading error” was been fixed but not, sometimes happens to me, sometimes not, posting to map.

But sharing privately always works and I can see all my splats in the map with my Quest 3; using my user, of course.

I,ve tried again (now) to post to map my last scanning but error appears again, just when I push the “Post to map” button. 4.0.4 version.

I let link to that scanning if you want to test it why can’t be uploaded publicly:

Regards!

Iam having the same issue. I cant upload the scans for certain splats. (EDIT: Most splats work, some randomly get this error) One place i had to go back to and do the scan over again because of this. Had this issue again yesterday which forcing me to travel back to do the scan again… this can be a problem for scans in harder to get back to locations.

They process well. Just cant upload to map without error. I try reprocessed but that doesn’t fix the upload issue.

Thanks for bringing this back to our attention! I will alert the team the issue still exists, and they will look at it at their earliest opportunity. When I hear back on any possible fixes or patches, I’ll provide an update here. We appreciate your patience until then.

Thanks very much!!
This software is amazing!

I’m getting the same error with a splat. It starts uploading then comes up with an ‘Upload Error’ and a claim that there’s no internet connection.
I’m using a Pixel 8a, running v.4.0.6 (139)

Pixel 6a. Scaniverse 4.0.6.
I was able to upload to the map. To do this, I had to log out from account and log in back. I used Google account. Accepted all cookies.
I experienced the “no Internet connection” issue before that.

Unfortunately it made no difference for me, logging out and back in (Google account and accepting all cookies etc). It gets to 16%, stalls, jumps to 50% then gives the upload error and says that there’s no internet connection.

For me it just gets to 17% and gives an error message “fail to upload please try again” or something similar. That happens on some uploads, but others I can upload fine.
